Pharmacists Invent New Pill Counting Tray and Spatula to Accommodate Today’s Larger Pill Sizes and 90 Day Orders
Scottsdale, AZ – February 2, 2014
PharmaTools, LLC., the designer of the new PharmaTrayTM, a pill counting tray; and PharmaSpatTM, a new pill counting spatula; are breakthrough innovations for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians that keep up with the demand and the needs of today’s busy pharmacies.
With more than 4 billion prescriptions written last year in the United States, pharmacies have an increased pressure for quality control measures that protect their customers, in addition to their own corporate demand for error-free excellence.
The new patent pending technology allows for the accurate and efficient filling of larger prescription orders, and addresses the new larger pills that pharmacists must prepare every day. Prior to these new PharmaTools inventions, the pill trays and counting spatulas currently used in pharmacies nationwide have not changed for more than 54 years.
PharmaTray, the new pill counting tray, is made of polycarbonate, which does not crack or hold powders. The round edges make it easy to clean. The larger tray surface holds three times more pills with a more efficient pill tray to keep up with larger prescription orders.
The larger surface pouring area and larger opening facilitates an easier more efficient flow of pills. A well-designed bump stops the roll out of the pills, which gently corals the pills and provides a cleaner control of each order. The larger tray surface is designed with an unobstructed surface for branding and advertising.
PharmaSpat, the new counting spatula, features a tapered stainless steel blade attached to a comfortable and solid handle made of polycarbonate. The 6 tools-in-1 spatula features a curvature that halts pills from rolling away from the spatula and a hook to remove cotton and paper from pill bottles. The multi-purpose tool not only pops off safety caps, it also breaks safety seals without breaking tablets or capsules.
These new innovations are designed and created by a working active pharmacist, David Doretti, CEO of PharmaTools, LLC of Scottsdale, Arizona who designed them after more than 25 years of experience as a pharmacist and over 40 years of shelving pills. Doretti’s father was a pharmacist, and David stocked shelves with pill bottles since he was 10 years old.
Today Doretti is still a pharmacist and manages a Phoenix Wal-Mart Pharmacy. “Pharmacies across the country need these new tools,” Doretti says. “Everyone that works with prescriptions will appreciate a better design – for today’s better pill sizes and advertisers will love the potential for branding their logo and message for every pharmacy.
Doretti has two other pharmacists in the family with years of experience that are an automatic network and an assist to springboard their ideas and launch new pharmaceutical products.
PharmaTools is currently looking for Pharmaceutical and other corporate partners to brand the tools and help distribute PharmaTray and PharmaSpat to every pharmacy in America.
